Igni, where it meetstor problems????

Thanks everyonre for previous replies to ignitor issues.
Does anyone have knowledge on ignitors, i still can not get our stove to light. ignitor gets hot, from back of stove you can see bright red through air hole , in front where it meets the burn pot not red at all, slight glow coming from rear of ignitor, Is it possible for the ignitor to only be half lit. Really banging my head on this one, cleaned stove multiple times, it started after first cleaning before initially trying to start, lit up maybe six times so far, now it doesnt want to ignite again. Any one have knowledge on the ignitor if only half of the rod could get hot?.

Why don't you take the igniter out and look at it while it powers up? Hold it with some pliers and power it with a bench test cable, 120v. Yes, it is common for zones to burn out. Make sure your burn pot is aligned properly too .

yes i have taken out the ignitor and bench tested it, it is bright red in rear 1/3 of tube, front of ignitor is not red at all. The whole tube surrounding the coil inside gets hot, so is it possible that maybe the ignitor is only partially working? Thanks for your reply.

Replace the ignitor.

Yes, replace the igniter. MAKE SURE THAT YOU ALIGN THE IGNITER TO BE FLUSH WITH THE BURNPOT BEFORE YOU SECURE IT DOWN Also, there is a round hole cut to the corner of the square opening for the intake air. The igniter MUST slide through the round part of the opening. It will fit into the square opening and look right but will never igniter.....i have lots experience on this one....even with all my experience I sometimes forget the placement in the round hole in my haste.
