Indoor Alarm

I wanted to know if anyone has an alarm or some way to wake me up in case I need to fill the stove in the middle of the night based on the indoor house temps.

Is there a product out there or is there some way I can get my thermostat to alarm or get my phone to go off? Did not know what people do?

I don't do it but if I wanted to I would just plug my irritating noise maker of choice into one of these.

I sleep on the couch by the stove without a blanket. When I wake up shivering I throw more in the stove

This Freeze Alarm works great! Set the temp to whatever say 45 Deg F, when it drops below it will call you on the telephone!

Thanks guys all great ideas. The freeze alarm is a little out of the price range I was thinking. I really like brother barts idea of plugging a radio or something into that device.

However I just thought of something. BrotherBart do they have something similar to that which will run off of batteries since I get power outages often? That would be the ticket for me.

Get any cheep thermostat, pure mechanical one (if still available} or battery operated digital one. Hook up the contact to turn on a battery operated low voltage chime. Set the stat to a low temp.

Just buy a wireless indoor-outdoor thermometer with an alarm.

The wireless thermometer is what I am looking for but all the ones I see on amazon so far the alarm is an alarm clock to wake you up not to turn on if it gets cold in the house. The wiring sounds like a good idea for the thermostats but I am vaguely familiar with their wiring. I remember wirring 6 different colors just for my one thermostat so not sure how to rig something;ng up. If anyone finds or use an alarm let me know thought this thread would be good for someone else in my situation who would rather get up and fill the stove when it is frigid at night instead of using oil.

couple years ago I got an acurite at walmart for about $17.00 and where ever you set the outdoor part, in my case under my trailer...if the temp goes down to whatever you srt it at the alarm on the other part will sound off.

Use a cheap mechanical thermostat and the buzzer/chirper from an old 9V smoke alarm. Wire the t-stat to the buzzer/chirper and power with a 9V battery. Add a switch to the circuit to enable and disable it. Depending on where you sleep and where you want to monitor the temp, you may need to run 2 light gage wires between the 2 places. But be sure to put the disable switch with the buzzer so you can turn it off before it also wakes up the grizzly sleeping beside you.

Don't use the probe, just the remote and set the main unit to alarm at the desired temperature.

Make sure the unit can detect temps dropping below the setting as well as rising above the setting.
