Moved into a 2200 sf home in the country. Large masonry fireplace is just begging me for a wood burning insert. My wife really likes the appearance of the Hearthstone Clydesdale but it has had “coming soon” listed online for over a year.
Any recommendations on a similar styled insert that will take larger logs. It’s a large fireplace so I’d like a large firebox to minimize loading. Thanks

Rather than going with a long log E/W only loader, consider an insert with a more square firebox. And if you really want long time between loads then get a cat insert from Kuma or BK.
