Hi there,

I have a fireplace insert that was in my home when I recently bought it. It is not currently in the fireplace since we refurbed it to a masonry one. I wanted to know if there was a method to check that the blower still works (for resale) without having to actually burn wood inside (since it's not attached to a flue anymore)

Thanks

That would depend on the unit. Some have a manual position to the fan switch which will let them run with a cold stove. If the unit has a thermal snap switch, then this can be carefully jumpered to test the fan. Warning, this is line voltage. Unplug before making the temporary jumper modification.
