Hi all, I recently purchased a Monessen wood burning fireplace. I want to build a "dog house" around the back, on the outside of the house, with the Chimney exposed and running up the side of the house - instead of a full "chase" built around the fireplace and chimney.

Is this ok? Or is this a problem?

It's a wood burning fireplace.

The instruction, show installations through existion roof(through attic space) and outside house with chase. It does not say anything about not to build a "doghouse" it does say to provide 2" minimum air space clearance to combustibles.
