Hello,

When investigating options for a wood insert, I stumbled upon a local dealer that sells the Olympia Hybrid liner and swears by it. He quoted me a 6"x25' hybrid kit for $1175 (broken out in a quote for an entire install).

I imagine that now that I will be installing a PE Summit (which they do not sell), they either would choose to not sell me the liner, adjust the price higher, or keep the price the same. Either way, is there any way I can get access to the Olympia Hybrid liner online for purchase? I was unable to get a rep-locater on their website for a price-check.

Also, I've read the posts about smooth-wall liners unraveling, the differences in light to medium sized liners. I am wondering...

What other suggestions do you have for a nice thick-walled, pre-insulated flexible liner I can freely order online?

I've found the Forever-Flex Pre-Insulated liner online, but I've read some concerns on this forum regarding it's thin wall construction. Should I be concerned about this enough to bump to a medium walled liner?

Couple details to consider:
-Interior masonry chimney
-PE Summit Insert (planned)
-I do want it insulated

Thanks!

I honestly dont know where you can get olympia hybrid liner online. But i can tell you that we use it quite a bit. It is the lightest liner we will install for a wood stove and it is much better than light wall liners. You can also simply insulate and mid weight or heavy wall liner your self if you cant find a good preinsulated one.

Ah! Finally found the Olympia Hybrid equivalent online

Sorry if this is common knowledge, but it seems Olympia and Forever-Flex are one in the same. Olympia is carried by dealers, whereas Forever-Flex is a bit of a free-for-all.

Not true at all olympia is the manufacturer. Forever flex is their light wall liner. Not one in the same at all

But is it true that the Olympia Hybrid is only available through dealers?
I can't find spec sheets to confirm that the Forever Flex Hybrid is truly a light wall liner....

well according to the olympia sales department none of their products are available on the open market. But i see them for sale on line lots of places so i don't believe that anymore. The link you posted is for their mid weight liner inside a skin of light wall liner with insulation between the 2.

I just bought a liner from woodland direct, I got the heavy flex which is olympia armor flex. So I assume all their liners are olympia they are the middle men. Of course they screwed up my order but there making it right.

90% of the chimney parts I have bought from websites have shipped directly from Olympia.

Yeah at first i bought their sales guys crap about not allowing it but now their stuff is available way to many places so i dont buy it anymore. And honestly i done have a problem with it they make good products so why not make them more available. It just bothers me that their sales dept lied to me.

They aren't exactly lying. They say they only sell to the trade. And re-sellers are in the trade. Olympia has like five distribution centers across the country so a re-seller doesn't have to stock or ship anything and the stuff arrives fast.

The sales guy shouldn't have lied to you though.

I think Copperfield still only sells to installers but not sure.

Copperfeild just got bought by home depot so no not anymore. Let me check on that i believe it was copperfeild i know it was one of the older companies and i am pretty sure it was copperfeild.

Yeah home depot bought interline which was copperfeild's parent company

And no they were lying they specifically said they didnt sell to online retailers. But oh well i still like their stuff and they treat us very well so they will still be our main supplier

So this is technically a medium duty liner, similar to the Hybrid, right?

I just want to get something that won't kink and dent as easy as the light stuff.

Seems like most people like the Forever Flex Hybrid.

Ewang and Brother Bart-
I too was unable to find online seller of Olympia products. I am Interested in their Pre-insulated hybrid liner. I have emailed them but no response. No contact number on website. I am trying to find the thickness of each wall in this pre-insulated hybrid. Specs I found say .010 thickness but I think that is both walls combined.
Who have you both found to get/buy Olympia stuff online?
Thanks

Honestly, I think I am just going to go with the Forever Flex Hybrid. I haven't found a single piece of specification or marketing literature to explain any difference between the Forever Flex Hybrid (available online) and the Olympia Hybrid (which I have only found through a dealer.

Nope that is for the inner liner the outer is normal light wall probably .005 or .006 and the op posted a link to it above

It is absolutely the same thing go for it

I figured.

I work for an HVAC manufacturer and we kind of do the same thing to cover multiple sales channels, but only manufacture one product, while not created sales-channel conflict.

Not to beat a dead horse-BUT- I need clarification:
Looking at Olympia's website- non-trades can't get to spec info but it appears they make two pre-insulated liners. If you look at the link the OP posted (fireplace/chimney store) they show two different pre-insulated liners:
1.-Forever Flex pre-insulated hybrid with smooth wall, two skins 430/316L with .010 thickness(per earlier post I assume this is the inner liner thickness)
The cost for a 6"x20' pipe only is $790
and
2.-Forever Flex pre-insulated flexible liner , two skins 430/316Ti with no thickness info. The cost for 6"x20' pipe only is $513

SO- it seems to me the heavier liner is the hybrid and is priced higher for that reason.

Based on the opinions from the experts here who help us-Is this a good product and how would you compare it to the HomeSaver roundflex heavy liner that needs to be wrapped? What would you use and why?
Many thanks.

Yes .010 inner and .005 or .006 exterior direct from olympia you can get the inner liner in 304 also whish is fine for wood and is a little cheaper than 316.

It is light wall i dont know which thickness it is either .005 or .006

It is thinner than heavy flex I think heavy flex is .015 but i could be wrong. For wood we usually use heavy flex we use olympia's armor flex and we insulate with either wrap our thermix. But for people who don't plan of burning their stove full time we will go down to the hybrid. We never use light wall for wood

Bholler-Again thank you for your time and quick input. By chance, do you know anyone in the Cincinnati area who can do an install. I am very picky but will pay for quality work. You answers have helped greatly.
Thanks

No i am sorry no idea on that area check csia website
