Insulation Question

After I finally get my chimney up, I want to start insulating the interior wall of my basement where the stove is (so I don't have to readjust stove placement). I plan on using 2" blueboard and furring strips. The question is, how thick should the vapor barrier behind the 2x2s and blueboard be? The DIY stuff I've found has shown 3/4", with disclaimers that say that carpenters have different views on insulating, etc.

What do you guys think? Should I just stick with 3/4" vapor barrier and 3" screws?

How do you get a 3/4" vapor barrier? Do you mean 3-4 mills?
