Is Fire Caulk the same as RTV?

Will this stuff work for caulking the pellet stove exhaust pipes?

Also wondering how you dismantle exhaust pipes that have been put together with rtv?

no that's for sealing holes in framing during construction .

nope fire caulking can withstand MUCH greater temperatures, and isnt as pliable

Basically you have to pry it and twist it, swearing helps.

Funny I thought you used a Binford 9999 power vent wrench. That's the one with the sealant softener on it.
