Is it bad?

I have gone through a total of 2 tons and I'm down to my last 15 bags......I clean my stove on a regular basis every week getting every nook and cranny that can possibly be cleaned inside without pulling out the stove on rails and getting more indepth. But unfortunately I have yet to clean my exhaust liner, I know I heard in here some people say you should do the leaf blower trick every ton, but due to the crazy winter we have been having with the temps and snow I haven't gotten around to it. Is it that bad to stretch it a bit more till some decent weather comes around? What do you guys have to say about this subject?

I am in the same boat as you. I usually clean this twice a year but like you mentioned with it so cold for so long I do a good cleaning every week but have not gotten to the exhaust well. I think one good cleaning in the spring will do for this part.

I'm almost done my fourth ton and ready to open my fifth. Haven't cleaned the vent yet... Probably in June or so.

Every installation is different. I have one stove that needs attention after burning some poor pellets after half ton and another has ground through over 4 tons with a visual inspection showing no issues and will go to when the weather permits summer layup. Morning temp here -13F an its March 1st?

it depends on the fuel you burn and the exhaust set up you have. you have to look as your stove - is there more ash building up on the glass than normal; is the flame lazy; are you getting more unburnt pellets than usual. if you think something is wrong, investigate it but if you don't see any symptoms then you might just be fine.

the M55 is a tough stove that can handle dirty.

my parents are already on their 3rd ton of pellets but the stove has done well

The first winter we didn't know to clean the venting every ton so we didn't. It was fine

This winter most stoves are burning fast and furious which helps keep the pipes cleaner then if the stoves were idling in a moderate shoulder type situation. Think about the exh fan and how it works. It is pushing faster rpms when the stove is delivering more heat. This will cause soot etc to be blown further then is the fan is turning slowly.

And the steady use keeps the pipe good and warm reducing any condensation to make anything sticky and keeping any natural heat convection flows running.
