I haven't needed to build a fire in my wood stove for a few nights and the forecast for the next week is in the 40s. I'm assuming it's not going to get any colder as we head into April. Seems a bit early, but I'm really glad to say how much wood I'm saving for next season.

It is here in the PNW. Started within the last week, which is good. I burned about 80% of my winter wood in February, what a terrible month.

Yes, February ate a lot of wood here too. I just started some seeds in the greenhouse. Last year I started them on Jan 22nd.

It is here. Was 74 here yesterday. 42 out now. Same wood though, just burn mostly evenings. Just use a lot of kindling now.

Our cats have moved on to wonderfully sunny spots on cushy surfaces when they aren't watching the big increase in bird/squirrel activity, but our kids still miss a fire some evenings. It's supposed to be in the 60s today with 70s in the next few days, so not missing the heat. Growing some new wood stacks along with the garden (major deer proofing in progress and working on being unadopted by some recent mole arrivals). The wood obsession is not waning with the fine weather. Didn't realize that would be so pervasive when we got an insert.

It will be below 14 tonight and the next two nights will be in the single digits so cold weather is still here.

Haven't burned in over a week, don't see any burn days in the forcast. This winter was pretty mild here, far as temp goes. Went into it really concerned about having enough, and still have half of it.
The way the yard and fields look, grass cutting is only a week or two, maybe only days away.

Plenty of burning left for us in WI but it looks like we’re out of negative temp territory at least. Gobbled up some wood this winter for sure! About a foot or two of snow left to melt and then about 50” of frost. Going to see 40’s and some 50’s this week so we’ll be looking a lot better in a couple weeks.

No green grass here yet. Think that's at least 3 weeks off at least I hope. Not ready to start that stuff.

My stove will go cold after Tuesday night, letting the furnace take over.

I keep the stove going up here in NE Ohio as long as possible so the wife and I have a place to throw the stinkbugs.

I call them shoulder days, before the full shoulder season. The problem is I'm burning large splits of oak from my every day wood supply on the side deck. To lazy to haul up the less than perfect wood.

Shoulder season here in south-central Indiana. I probably won't make many fires between now and May, maybe none. The furnace will probably use $20 of gas in the next 5 weeks.

It's weird, all of us here on this site are all about cutting splitting and stacking firewood in preparation for the cold seasons. And don't get me wrong, I love a cozy fire on a freezing winter night. But this time of year, when it starts warming up a bit, I want the winter to end so I can get back to getting my firewood ready for the fall. It's almost as if I like preparing and knowing I'm ready more than I like enjoying the fruits of my labor!
