Castle is not pumping out the heat this year, and im blowing threw pellets. I picked up 3 tons of timber heat and the heat is not good. I will need to pick up some other brands and see if the problem persists as I never had this prob before regardless of brand. Only other reason I could think of is the end of last yr I had issues when replacing my combustion motor/impeller

Your idea of trying different pellets would be exactly what I would do. Maybe after a quick check of the guts on the stove, make sure there is nothing obvious.

I bought 2 Tons of "WARM FRONT" Pellets about 6 Wks ago when there were none to be had @$295 per Ton. Ct was dry unless you could haul your own. I should have opened a Bag first as they turned out to have a lot of Fines and immediately saw it in Stove performance. I have Lopi AGP which stands for all grades of Pellets, touted to burn anything you feed it! Not true as low grade Pellets were jamming Auger and shutting Stove down, not to mention all the Dust. I emptied out all dirty Pellets and picked up 1 Bag of INFERNO ULTRA PREMIUM GOLD at Big-Y and problem solved. They are $275 a ton, but they don't deliver! Lesson learned, Plan B?

Both not a premium pellet. If the pellets are not dancing in the burnpot, then you have a combustion air problem. Check that first!

idk my lopi agp burns low grades pellets fine i have tried warm front dirty pellet but burned stove never shut off have u tried adjusting the air

Most places that don't deliver know someone with a pickup who will. Downside is that you have to load and stack but it's worth it for a better pellet. I learned my lesson early on. I won't buy what I consider a sub-standard pellet unless I'm desperate. I'd rather haul them bags at a time in my SUV. That said, my Harman has never acted as was described above no matter the pellet.

Ok,so far I have tried Green Supreme, Greene Team Platinum, Maine's Choice (Geneva), and Fireside Ultras. They all provide good heat, which is the point. My stove didn't miss a beat with any of the brands and the temperature in the house was similar with all brands under similar conditions. Differences? The Fireside Ultras and Green Supremes did produce more ash relative to all the others but in terms of comparing it to my former Jotul 3 wood stove, not even worth talking about the ash. The Greene Team and Maine's Choice produce a nice whitish active flame with a bluish tint at its base, reminiscent of a camp fire using really dry wood and getting that nice blue flame, while the FSU and GS pellets produce a more yellowish and slightly less active flame. I am satisfied with all of them and would buy any of them in bulk to heat my home, probably using price to determine purchase. All of them are far better at heating my home than my former wood stove and have allowed me to turn off my oil heat thermostats so far, and that's a very good thing.

I have the lopi agp insert and right now I am burning Penningtons that I picked up from Walmart. I just went downstairs and adjusted the temperature because it is a little too warm in the bedrooms upstairs. I am saving my GT platinums for the January-March temps.

Went back to BIG-Y and put 15 Bags of INFERNO PREMIUM in my Honda CRV ( Dog had to ride up front w me! Wish I still had my Pick-Up[emoji53] ) Plan B is to mix 75/25 and see how that works out. Need to burn or sell a Ton to make room in the Garage for a Ton of Premium for Jan, Feb temps! Stay warm...

Just make sure you can still get 'em then!

Looks like the rope gasket behind the back plate needs replacing. Let the ash build up and not remembering seeing that ant hill in the corner.???
