I'm looking to install a new 2-sided gas fireplace. We were looking at the Napoleon BGD40N1 or something very similar. We visited the local dealer and he has only the floor model left but will sell it for $1,500 as he wants to make room for their newer model. It is a very small store so it seems plausible. The cheapest I could find new is $2200-$2300. He said there is only a few hours on it, but it looks new. Any thoughts on this? Any type of warranty from the manufacturer is expired, but he said they are only a year. It seems like a great price on a barely used unit.

Sounds like a reasonable deal, but I'd call BS on the warranty being expired.
Every floor model I sold in the past came with the FULL manufacturer's warranty
Maybe you could ask for a "company-backed" warranty if he won't give you the
maufacturer's...
