Is this gap bad?

Hi,
Is this gap a cause for concern? It is on the transition piece between the stovepipe and the chimney, i'm sorry I don't know it's name. The installer told me that it isn't a problem since the system is under negative pressure. I use furnace cement on the stovepipe. Should I fill that gap in with cement, or a gasket? What do you all think. I've had the stove for a few years and works great.

looks like a ceiling boot ...........?........correct ? Wood stove? (Hearthstone Bennington) I would make sure the pipe is kept round .

It would not be hard to straighten that a bit with a hammer or similar.

Assuming that pipe fits over it, and is furnace cemented and screwed - your installer is probably right. Any leaks would pull in.
