Hello,

I recently purchased a Jotul original #8 'pinwheel' in very good condition. In getting ready for installation I realize it doesn't have any firebrick. Should this stove have firebrick in it, or are there any #8 users out there who have used firebrick in their stoves? Seems like it would reduce the firebox quite a bit?

Thanks!

There is no firebrick in this stove. Instead there is a back liner and side liners. If the liners are warped and/or badly cracked they should be replaced.

Thanks thats very helpful. I also happened to get a reply from Jotul in Norway, and was send this PDF. Hope it helps other classic Jotul users out there.

Thanks for posting. That looks like the European manual. It covers several stoves. I've place a copy in our Jotul Wiki page.
