Jotul 8 TDIC Question

Hi, I'm hoping you all can help... The baffle fell out of our Jotul 8 TDIC leaving an exposed hole going straight to the vent. I filled it with fire bricks to try and make the stove more efficient but am worried that it might not be safe. Do you think this is a reasonably safe method until we can get a new stove? The supply chain seems to be very backed up. Thanks so much --Nicole

It looks like the holding bolts for it rusted out. If so, I would drill them out, tap the holes and install new ones. The firebrick are not much of a baffle. They look more like a flue blocker.
