Hi,
Am new to this forum.
I'm having a Jotel C450 Kennebec installed tomorrow (Thursday 10-29).
What are some must things I should be sure are done in terms of having a correct and efficient install?
Thanks for any advice, Ed

Make sure the liner is secured to the insert & the cap.
Make sure they block off the damper area by whatever means they normally use.
Make sure the insert sets both level & plumb & the face plate (surround) is against
the facing material around the original fire box.
Open & close the door a couple of times to make sure the unit doesn't move
& to verify the latching mechanism works correctly
Double-check the manual to ensure that the specified clearances to any combustibles (i.e. mantel) are met...
Confirm the hearth protection is compliant.
Maybe there's more, but it's been a long day...

You need to know what the final score of the Jets-Miami game will be before kick off and let me know.

Also, all the stuff Daksy said

The install went without a hitch, and they were able to preserve my fireplace so that it can be put back.
Thanks for the advice.

I'm finishing up my first break-in fire.
I love this insert, and am glad i chose it. Ed
