The f305 is one of the most recent Jotul models to enter their international collection. It has a contemporary design with the emphasis on a big fire view. This model is not sold in the US, yet, though there seems to be an increasing request for a mid-sized contemporary and I am seeing it show up in Google Ads here. What do you think?

Very contemporary for my tastes. But to each their own.

I like the traditional look too but can appreciate how a classic stove would look out of place in a modern decor. The stove has been designed to maximize the view while keeping it efficient. That makes it look a bit like a TV set to me, but I can see how in the right context it could work out nicely. What I like is that Jotul keeps creating. The Easter Island head design of the Combifire was a bit of a shocker when it came out, but folks grew to love it, and it heated well.

For certain. The older I get, well I realize I'm getting old. In the right home it certainly could be a attractive option.

Unfortunately I don't see a lot of Jotul's in my area. I am intrigued by them. The few I've gotten to lay my hands on seemed to be quality units.

We do have a local dealer, maybe just luck of the draw that I haven't seen many? Come to think of it. I'm quite certain that dealer doesn't recommend me, they have an established relationship with another sweep. So maybe that's why?

Jotul stoves have excellent castings and a very nice fit and finish. They've been at it for a very long time. The fireplaces and cast iron clad models (F45-F55) are cast in Norway with the steelwork and assembly happening in Maine. I like a classic stove and IMHO the F400-F600 are some of the best looking out there, especially with the blue-black enamel finish.

Traditional/classic designs will always be relevant. This design, not so much, at least in my opinion.

The gas version of this stove was made available this year. The sales have been surprising so far. There is a certain demographic for every design they say.

 Looks like something out of a Woody Allen's movie Sleeper.

I can see that stove with the right décor, but not in my house. But, my F400 was one of my best purchases ever!

This stove will do very well. It fits in with a modern looking style where as most stoves do not.
Yes, I hope they bring the wood burning version to the states. Different strokes for different folks.

I watch a lot of jotul videos and like some of their international designs. This one would have been great in the 70’s but I think would get vetoed by a lot of wives out there as not being aesthetically pleasing.

It's not a bad looking stove. Seems like it would go well in a contemporary setting. Unfortunately, Jotul only sells one of their modern design stoves here, the F370, and that's not the best looking.

I'm sorry, but that is one ugly stove. The designers must have been drinking too much Akvavit.

Wood stove version of a malm fire place

It may never show up here. Jotul makes at least 40 other wood stoves and inserts that are not sold in the US.

The link didn't work so I jumped over to youtube and found a video that shows it in what appears to be an unpainted castiron and it looks much less drastic that way. The enamel white was a bit much for me but the plain castiron would have a place here. That is a huge piece of glass and what looks to be a big firebox for size of stove.

This is a variation on the F305. There are several base or leg options. Yes, it is designed to provide a large fireview.

I updated the link in the original posting.
