No offense, but does that do the job 15 times better than a vintage? It ought to!

It probably breaks down 15 times less often. I'm a huge fan of vintage machinery (got a whole barn full), but there's a certain peace of mind that comes from owning new, when you really depend on it working without hassle every time.

picked it up for $25 bucks without testing. It's green and it has a 2-cycle engine, so you know I had to buy it.

Started right up, but it ran a little rough. 40:1 was rather smokey, too. Then it sputtered and died and leaked gas out of the carb/fuel line areas.

I think it should be an easy fix. for $25 it will give me several hours of entertainment and an excuse to drink beer down in my shop this fall.

For the bigger snow storms I'll break out my vintage Montgomery Ward Dual Stage. The orange machine didn't get used even once last year.

i do have a fridge, but electrical is a work in progress. I've got most of the interior wiring done, but am just now working on burying the run between the house and shed.

The fridge is also awaiting a Kegerator kit. I may never have to leave.

I have one - and truth be told there isn't much savings between bottle and keg these days. (that wasn't so, in the past). Be aware that there are about 3 different taps used if you like to go to the good stuff.

Have the exact same thrower in orange don't remember the brand - it does work great for clearing the deck and going over the grass to create a path for the oil man (and for the pocket dogs when mom was living with us).

Paid $125 for it 12 years ago - I run mine with 50:1 as oil technology has gotten a lot better since it left the factory.

Chains are for some more traction. The back part of my road has a pretty good hill that has an off camber section that makes the truck want to slide down hill. I also have a 4x6 sheet of 1/4" thick steel laying in the bed for ballast as well.

I have a Toro 2 stroke that I use on the deck and the paver walk, but I'm not sure if it's necessary on the deck, since we don't really go out there in the winter. Then, the icy snow falls down from the roof above, and that gets hard as a rock too. It's manuverable too, for the walk, but so's a shovel.

It's nice to have a backup to the bigger 2 stage though, in case that craps out for some reason. One winter I blew out the driveway with the little one managed to blow the gloppy snow the larger one couldn't.
