Water pools in the ash dump, and comes out through cracks in the bricks in my basement. What can I do to keep water out of my chimney? I think I need to fix the crown, but I wonder if the clay being flush is also an issue. (Edit: This for my fireplace and oil burner, but the oil burner isn't used anymore.)

I think water comes in through my wood stove chimney as well. Not sure what to do here either, maybe create a crown? Appreciate any advice

Looks like the double chimney needs a new crown, done properly. There's no expansion gap for the flue tiles there.
