My daughter recently bought a house that came with a King 5502M pellet stove. The unit appeared to not have been cleaned in a long time and was full of old pellets. I methodically went through all areas of the stove and cleaned out all of the fly ash, as well as the burn pot, exhaust port, air inlet and inside of the back of the stove. I also removed all of the old pellets and vacuumed the hopper and auger area. I added new pellets, plugged in the unit and the display indicated Hr-3 and the led next to Auto above the mode button was flashing. I could hear the exhaust fan cycling on and off, and then the auger started and began to fill the burn pot. Unfortunately, this process continued with the cycling of the fan on and off and the pellets feeding until the the burn pot overflowed. The pellets did not ignite and when I removed the burn pot, the ignitor was not even warm.

I thought I had a bad ignitor, so I ordered up a new one and replaced it today. Started the stove back up and it went through the same cycle as above, but never ignited. I checked the new ignitor and it was cold to the touch. I am not sure what to check next? I looked at the board and noticed it had 2 glass tube fuses, but they both appeared to be intact.

Like I said previously, I am not sure what to check next, so if anyone has any suggestions, I would greatly appreciate it.

Thanks in advance.

Then it sounds like the magic smoke has leaked from the board
Maybe someone knows of a person/place where they can fix them

I know I'm late to the party. But you could ignite the pellets with a torch, and it will run just fine after that. I clean my burn pot daily, as it's burning, and they go out on me all the time. I just torch them back to fire

With the power off you can unplug the igniter wires and check with an ohmeter. Then you will be checking the wiring and the igniter. After that you need to check that the board is putting out 120V AC to the igniter on a startup.

If the stove wasn’t cleaned maybe the exhaust vent pipe is full also
