Question:
I don't know if you can help me but I am looking for information on Kodiak wood burning stoves. I moved into a house which already has one installed but we seem to be unfamiliar with how to operate it. If the manufacturer is out of business I would be happy to get some basic instructions as to firing it up, regulating the heat generated, all the good stuff. Any help you can give me would be greatly appreciated.
Answer:
Mike, this is an old steel plate stove, similar to hundreds that were on the market. You can use the basic instructions at https://www.hearth.com/what/specific.html in order to learn how to start and maintain a fire.
Other than starting or refreshing, more air=more heat and less time burning - less air=less heat, longer burn times.
