So last year my latch handle fell off (sheared off)... this year it's the front-most burn tube. It has fallen out on the right side and won't stay back in. I've gone as far as to put some vice-grips on it and tap it back in to the hole with a hammer... but it still falls out within a few fires.

Has anyone had this happen? It's sort of annoying because I can't load the stove up fully when the tube is hanging down.

Thanks!

Can't help you with the reason, but a quick fix would be to get it into position & mark where the left side of the tube is against the left side of the stove, using a Sharpie.... Remove the tube & drill thru close to the mark, making a small enough hole to insert a cotter pin or a nail. Re-position the tube in the stove & insert the pin. The tube won't be able to move to the left as long as the pin is in place...HTH

Different stove, but one of my tubes also fell out earlier this season. I had taken it out to brush the chimney. I had to bang on the vicegrips pretty hard to get it to stay.

Ok, thanks. I'll give it another go when the stove cools off. I haven't been able to let it rest since it's been so darn cold up here! :)

If I can get it back in place with vice grips, I will also throw a pin in there to be safe.

Closure... I got in there today after letting everything cool off. I noticed there's a bolt holding the tube in place on the end... apparently that was preventing me from getting the tube back in. So, I took that bolt out, slide the tube in, and put the bolt back. It's super secure now... should hold. :)

My Quads had a bolted on 'pin' that held on the tubes. Never a problem with getting them out. The vise grips and hammer method seems crude.
