Can anyone tell me if it is ok to run 14 feet of 24 g black single wall connector pipe from my wood stove to the top of a cathedral ceiling? Certain websites are saying the max run is 10 feet of connector pipe before the chimney pipe. I have seen pictures of some of you with pipes running much longer from downstairs through great room ceilings. What is the concern or is the 10 foot (university of Michigan standards) wrong?

I believe that's correct. What you may be seeing are longer runs of double-wall, interior connector pipe, like Simpson Duravent DVL.
