After running a Harman P61A in room temp/auto for past couple months.,
Not crazy about the " High flame, Low flame, No flame procedure but I do understand this how it works with Room temp probe..keeps the house warm...73.
decided to try stove temp/auto as my dealer mentioned when temps are constant 40 degrees or lower 24/7.
what I noticed was what I call the " BlowTorch flame", which is little blue at the bottom and piercing straight up/down white/yellow flame... Appears to be lot more constant than when in Room temp although I assume this is what happens when probe temp is met and flames start to nose dive for a while..
Also seem to have less Ash buildup in front of the burn pot... Don't appear to be usi:ng more pellets this way
but I do like the constant steady heat and the flame couldn't be any stronger looking..
Btw: finding out that Stove Chows are a very underated pellet, probably because Home Depot sells them, but having ton of them, 229.00 and a Ton of Energex hardwood premiums 259.00., the chows are a hotter I think but ashier than the Energex...clean the stove every 7 days so ash in no problem...chows seem to last longer per bag maybe due to longer pellets.?..anyways, think I'll stay with Stove mode/Auto till the weather starts to climb in the afternoon [which can't friggin come soon enough]..
