Today for the first time since Ive been burning (3 years) I dumped my ash pail and my ash vac ashes into the outdoor burn pit (maybe because I havent been out there lately). My ashes have been sitting untouched on the side door patio for three days. Before I dumped them the thought came to me it would be easier and less of a hassle to dump them in the burn pit instead of slinging them into the woods or messing with a bag and having ashes flying into my face. So I dumped them and went about my business starting a fire for the wife, after about 10 minutes I happened to walk pass the sliding glass door and noticed smoke coming from my burn pit. I went outside to the pit and first poured my beer on the smoke to put it out and then I thought well that was real stupid so I went up front and grabbed the thing we use to water flowers and put the smoldering mess out. I just wanted to pass on another story of one thinking his ashes should be cold and they weren't, and thankfully I diverted from my normal practices today.
