I have a vc montpilier stove and just burn oak wood
What i think is happening this year is that my logs dont last long in the stove compared to last year
I try and split them as square as possible(stacking purposes)
So a log that is 3x4x18in with the air closed will last only 45min to 1hr
With the air fully closed the flame seems to be big(it diffenitly gets bigger when i open the air control)
I think i might have an air leak somewhere and was wondering how and were to check for it.
The board(located above the baffles) is pushed to the back of stove
