can i put ariens log splitter parts on a smiliar MTD log splitter?

i have the MTD and the hydraulic cylinder leaks but i dont lose pressure.
some guy is selling his ariens for parts and i would try to get ti on the cheap just for parts.

is this possible?

For the most part all log splitters operate the same. A motor drives a hydraulic pump, which in turn drives a hydraulic cylinder. So odds are very good that cylinder will work. You may have to adjust the way it mounts though.

Cylinders are rebuildable too wouldn't cost much to rebuild your existing one.

If the mounts are the same and the hydraulic hose fittings are the same it should be a direct bolt in.
