Hello all.
First time here! I have a Southland 6 ton log splitter whose ram retracts really slowly (although it extends like a charm). Well, it all started when, out of the blue and all of a sudden, the ram started retracting slowly, which then gradually got slower and slower by the use and now it barely moves. On top of that, the ram moves when I press the motor switch (normal operation also requires pressing on the hydraulic control lever). Yesterday, it got to the point it just would not retract at all, although after an hour or so it did retract.
So far I've checked the fluid level and it's ok. I've also checked for obstructions but there aren't any. I suspect the issue is some sort of blockage in the internal part of the hydraulic pump.
Any commentary will be greatly appreciated.
Thank you!
