Looking for advice for potential stove surround

Hi,

I would like to potentially enclose a stove pipe (picture 1) with a faux chimney breast (picture 2).

Is this feasible, if so how? Will it need to be a special surround? Is it OK to enclose the pipework? Is it called a surround or something else? Will it need to be made of a special material?

It can be done, but ou would have to check on UK regulations and the stove mfg. clearance specifications. In the US this would need to be constructed entirely out of non-combustible materials, if the stove mfg allowed this type of installation. Stove pipe would not be used inside the breast. Instead, at the ceiling of the breast, insulated chimney pipe would be used with just a short stub of stove pipe connecting to the chimney pipe. The mantel in the proposed design would probably also need to be made of a non-combustible material in order to honor the stove clearance requirements.
