Looking for any recommendations on a HIGH Quality stainless steel 4" chimney liner. I will be installing myself but, I have seen some LOW quality liners out there .

The thickest and the thinnest (.005") are all tested and rated for continuous flue temps of 1,000 degrees F. Pellet pipe is only rated for 500 degrees continuous. Any of the liners will vent a pellet stove just fine.

If it makes you sleep better pop for something like Homesaver Pro.

I use Olympia Chimney Supply exclusively for all my installations, they have a great product reasonably priced. They are also practically in my backyard so I get next day shipping. In the New England area I would also check out National Chimney, they have a warehouse location in Vermont. I have looked at their product in person and it is high quality, not sure on price.

Olympia ships from something like 15 sites around the country so it is pretty quick wherever you are.

But they only sell to dealers and installers. Half the stuff I have ordered from various online places shipped from an Olympia distribution center.

Bought mine from chimney liner depot, 316TI double wall with the smooth ID (i think its called flex king pro or something) ---I found them to be the cheapest price. Very pleased with the quality of it and CLD was great with customer service. Shipping was very fast too.

Comparatively speaking, most of them are about the same unless you want to dish out some big money for the triple wall or if it's made out of some overkill high grade stainless alloy... if it's UL listed and has a lifetime warranty it should be good.

I have been looking at pellet liners too and found these 3 sites with the best price on a kit. I just have a question about if there is a difference between a regular liner and smooth wall liner? And does it matter?

Is there any difference between the 3 liners on these sites?

Those all look like good options. I guess it depends on what kind of chimney cap you like better in the kit.

The 2 ply smooth has an additional internal layer that smooths out the ID (think a tube within a tube). They claim it helps improve draft performance and less flyash/creosote can stick to it. The single wall has pleats/steps on the ID. Both are fine to use.

With that said the disadvantage with the 2PLY is installation. It's not as flexible as the single wall and it's OD is slightly wider, if your firebox damper is narrow the 1ply may be a better option.

I went with the 2 ply for my installation.
