I'm looking for a small wood stove to fit in my basement fireplace that has only 24 inches of vertical clearance at the opening and has the metal heatolater type fire box with metal tubes below the damper plate.
I have found the Jotul F 602, but would like to know if it can have shorter legs. Also checked into boat woodstoves. They have a 4 inch flue which is nice. Are there any other wood stoves with a 4 inch flue outlet? I would like to avoid cutting the metal tubes in the firebox.
I enjoy the open fireplace, but I know the heat loss is large. I have an Osburn insert upstairs and the only and that heatloater firebox had been cut up from the previous owner.

602 all day, and order a short leg kit (avail everywhere that sells jotuls)... other wise, take the legs off, prop in some bricks.

EatenByLimestone, Those are the coolest little things I have seen in a while.

Morso makes a functioning wood stove that is approx. 2"x4"x2". That is the smallest one I have ever seen.
