I am interested in installing a Lopi Answer NexGen Hybrid Insert into an existing masonry fireplace. At the fireplace opening, I have a height of 25-1/4" and a width of 26-1/4". The insert has a depth of 14-1/4" and a width of 23-5/8". My fireplace space tapers in width and I only have the necessary width 11-1/2" inches deep, with a few inches remaining in depth ending at a width of 20". Is it ok if the Answer sticks out an additional 2-3/4" from the front of the fireplace? And if so, would it be possible for two of the optional trim panels (which add 1-1/4" depth each) to make up most of that difference?

It should be ok sticking out that far, but I would ask the dealer to make you a custom surround to make sure there is no gap where it meets the fireplace face. A good welder should be able to make it look right. We did this a lot at Best Fire in Troy, NY.
