It’s a nice running stove for its size and heats my main floor and upstairs (1450 sqft). I find that with this stove the conditions must be near perfect though - perfectly dry wood and good draft. I don’t find it to be an easy breather and some days I wish I went with the PE Super to be honest. But most days I am happy with it.

Sorry I forgot to ask - how is your medium flush insert? No hard times with it sometimes?
It is a quality insert. It is a little undersized for my 2200 square feet but handles 90% of my heat needs. My salesman steered me to the medium instead of the large, I would definitely buy the large if I had a do over. This was before I discovered hearth.com. I tend to run it pretty hot much of the time, no issues so far. It has payed for itself (likely 2x over) in oil savings so I can’t complain.

I agree - when it gets to constant freezing temperatures (highs of 20’s) I have to constantly run it at least medium burns to keep the downstairs at 72-74. If I could’ve gone larger I would have as well - probably the Evergreen. My fireplace was just small but apparently it’s just the right size for an evergreen (23 1/2in height). I didn’t know the installers could install it with that tight of a fit, but apparently they could’ve.

Yes - my house is all electric. Without my Woodstove the bill during the winter was ranging from 600-800 a month. Ridiculous

Me too with the electric. Mine is baseboard electric and not efficient at all. We will be making some changes this off-season to eliminate the electric heat.

I just recently received notice that our electrical co-op is raising rates by 3%. Wonderful….🙄
The hits just keep on coming! Prices will never go down. At least I've never seen utilities go down. I'm going with a vented natural gas system. When looking at energy price here, where I live NG is the most reasonable solution.

Always goes up, never comes down. Even if you don’t use that much energy it still goes up? Never understood. Wife handles the electric bill, that’s why she never complains when it comes to stuff for the Woodstove. Gonna get a splitter this spring, hehe
