Lopi Declaration thermal sensor

I have had my Lopi Declaration for about 4 years and I love it.

yesterday the blower shut off when cool, as expected, but made a louder than usual CLICKING sound. Since then I cannot get the blower to come back on no matter how hot I get the unit (even Red hot).

I am assuming it is a failed thermal sensor. Can someone direct me to where the sensor might be on this unit so I can buz it out to verify that this is the source of failure.

Also, are these sensors normal Open, or Normal Closed?

it would probably save me a lot of posting in the future if I could be directed to a source for the service manual for this unit.

Still need to know about the NO or NC question and where to get a service manual, but found the location of the sensor in another thread.

any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have a Declaration and had the same problem. The sensor is located behind the right hand blower, fairly easy to get to once the face plate is removed. Might have to pull the blower as well, but they just slide right out. Hope this helps.

Oops, posted before I read your second post. I believe the answer to your NO or NC question is that it's normally open. When I had my problem I just connected the two leads from the snap switch and turned the blower reastat on to verify that the switch was the issue. As far as the manual, try this link:

thanx for everything, you are the man. just what I would expect from an Engineer.

I did my undergrad work in electrical engineering, and grad work in computer engineering.
