I installed this stove myself. This is my second burning season.

Been having an annoying, growling vibrating noise that is off and on.

I found that just nudging the cast iron face plate with the bypass tool would temporarily stop it.
Was thinking it was the sheet metal just behind the face plate.

So I finally decided to look real close while it was doing it.
With a flashlight, I looked through the air slats below the ash lip.

Took a stick and started poking on things... and there it was.

The obvious... the fan motor was vibrating in its mounts.

I wedged a piece of wood lightly between the bottom of the motor and the plate its mounted on.

After the burning season is over I'll pull the face plate and evaluate the situation.

Either loose mounting screws and/or out of balance squirrel cage.

Check for dust, ash, and hair buildup on the blower fins. That can throw it out of balance. Was the insert leveled when installed?

Flush inserts tend to pick up more ash into the blower due to the skinny ash lip. They take more vigilance in keeping the hearth clean before turning on the blower.
