You would think after 36 years, I would be over the seasonal changes, but I am pleasantly surprised when the air becomes crisp and the summer humidity drifts away. I really am loving this last 2 days and know that stove season is right around the corner. Pilot light on gas stove will be lit in a month and wood burning to follow for me soon after. Enjoy everyone. Hopefully, you have what you need for the seasons be it wood or pellets.

Yep. Gettin chilly and leaves are taking up residence in the gutters. Now if I could just have the first fire along about Christmas. >>

I'm thinking you will be a little more premature. Once the temps drop too much inside, that will be it. I want to hold off a bit too. When the weather requires it as opposed to more ambiance. I would rather minimize my cutting and hauling.

I try to hold out to November every year. And never make it.

I got a good hike in today. I love these cooler temps with sunshine. Perfect.

Fog here, visibility down to about 100 yds. It was 56F this am. Hope we get enough sunshine this month to finish ripening the tomatoes.

And now strong thunderstorms in dense fog. Odd weather.

Soon...very soon.
:)

I really didn't enjoy the HOT weather this year. Too hot and humid.

This is just perfect right now. We are getting into the 70's and then into the 50's at night. Days are getting shorter, though.

Harvest Moon is/was beautiful. I'm going to try and get some pics of it tonight.

That's our summer temps :) Puget Sound air conditioning keeps us from getting too hot and summer days are rarely humid here. I miss the long days though. We were seeing sunset at almost 10pm just a couple months ago. Now it's happening at 7pm o_O. Daylight hours change super-rapidly at the equinoxes in the higher latitudes.

It's about 8am to 4:15pm here, but often seem darker if the skies are grey which is frequent in the winter. We're on the north slope of a hillside which doesn't help. The sun is at a very low angle so we only see it directly from about 9:30 to 3:30pm here. It is short, but I have to remind myself it's nothing like bogydave's.
