Majestic BE36 8" to 6"

Hello All! First time caller here.

I was wondering if it is safe to install a woodburning fireplace (not stove) and reduce it from 8" to 6" right out of the gate? If so, any issues you all think we might see?

The fireplace must be installed with the chimney pipe specified in the manual. It is not permitted to downsize it. This fireplace requires 8" Majestic SL300 chimney pipe I think.

Downsizing would be a serious code violation and safety hazard. A host of issues could occur due to downsizing starting with improper fitting at the flue collar, overheating the fireplace, serious smoke spillage, lethal carbon monoxide spilling into the room, etc.
