Menards BF deal- $699 for the DHT 27 ton splitter

I see that Menards has the Dirty Hands Tools 27 ton Kohler powered splitter for $799 minus a $100 in store credit. If you are fortunate enough to have a Menards nearby and you need a new splitter I'd check it out.
They have a limit of two per customer so you can buy one for the front yard and one for the back yard...

The most easterly store they have is in Canton, Ohio just across the border from Pennsylvania.

I think the 27-ton model may be the slow one and not the faster 22- and 28-ton models.

I can say that with Lowes and HD as local competitions, Menards blows them away on cost & variety. Quality is questionable sometimes. They don't always carry premium tools/equipment...

Menards has a chinsy looking Tool Shop Menards brand beside the big brands but they are lifetime warranted. I buy my power tools online anyways since I like DeWalt and online prices.
Forbes said that Menards runs such a tight ship that they even make the store managers punch a clock. They also have a fairly liberal return policy. Last year I took back $1500 worth of unused building materials I had never used when I built this house. They didn't require a receipt as long as they still sold the items and if I had a receipt they took it back no matter if they sold it or not.... 6 years later!

Quality of tools available... if you're looking for quality, name-brand tools they don't carry the good ones. You want Dewalt? You won't find a single Dewalt branded tool in a Menards store. That completely baffles me... You want Nicholson files? Best you'll find are Stanley branded. Of course that is all quite variable. Their hand-powered stapler selection is crazy. I was looking for a stapler a few years ago and couldn't decide because they had 20+ staplers. I ultimately decided on on faithful, made in USA Arrow T50 stapler... They do have some name-brand stuff, but it's middle-road name brand stuff for most of the tools and I've had issues with some of it before.

That being said, yes, their customer service is top notch. I had a Bostitch finish nailer I bought that was NOT functioning right. I took it back, realized I forgot my receipt at home, and they gave me a full-price refund anyways... I have NEVER had any problem with customer service when I have to take something back or they goof something up... it always gets straightened out pronto.
