Hi Everyone,

Midwest Hearth sells a catalytic combustor for the Blaze King Princess in ceramic and metal with the following item numbers: MH-63C and MH-63M

This does not seem to be a perfect fit in the Princess Insert 29 - PI29. The oem # for my insert is S.CAT29 and the oem # that Midwest Hearth replaces are as follows: Z4400G (ceramic), Z4400G-M (metal) or S.CAT1006
Z0336A-M (metal), Z0334, S.CAT203032

However, looking to see if anyone has had success with this in the PI29 even if its not designed for it? Curious since this is 1/2 the cost.

I've used MH-63M in my Princess (free standing) and it's a perfect fit. It's a 15-year old Princess, not sure the exact model#, I think it's PE1006.

@BKVP suggests that cats that aren't coming directly from BK may be inferior, less of the catalytic metal coating. I'm somewhat inclined to believe him, because the MH-63M I got two years ok seemed to be losing its mojo, and the vinegar acid bath made a huge difference, whereas one I got directly from BK lasted much longer.
