Morso 3610 Pictures requested

I'm very interested in a Morso 3610.
In fact, I've visited all of their "dealers" in NC, SC, KY and a few other states that I frequently travel to to find that many don't have a single Morso on the floor, let alone a 3610. (That may be just enough reason to stick with a Jotul F600 Firelight??? If I can't easily find service or repair parts...)

However, in an effort to do due diligence, can any of the owners of the Morso 3610 grab their digital cameras and snap a few shots that aren't available on the website/brochure?

ie.... top of the stove, side, back, doors open, inside firebox, secondary burn tubes, ash drawers, air control, and any other features that you find interesting, etc...?

Good stove, I'm satisfied with my purchase. I'm afraind i can't really post any interior photos that you're asking for though since I don't have them already and I don't plan to stop feeding to wood until sometime in April...I'll see what I can do though.

My one real criticism of the 3610 is what I consider a poor ash management system. The firebox is grated at the bottom...no surprises there, most stoves probably are these days. The problem is that the thing uses a pair of pans that don't really cover the whole underside of the grate...additionally in order to remove them for cleaning you have to first open the front doors, which usually dumps a bunch of ashes on the floor(at least in my case) and then you have to angle the trays up in order to get them out the opening, thus scraping the piled up ashes back into the body of the stove.

But I want to be clear here, its a great stove and the ash control part shouldn't keep you from buying one. I've eliminated probably 70% of my oil cinsumption this year.

You might want to check their website and see where the nearest dealer is, you may have overlooked someone nearby...I have two dealer sin my area and we're apretty rural area.

Not too many dealers here. The NC/Mid-Atlantic Areas don't appear to be real hotbeds for woodstove sales.
70 degrees today, probably down in the 20's again by the end of the week. Crazy weather probably requires a lot of stops and restarts.
Jotul dealers everywhere.....
I found a HUGE distributor in KY (Lexington) who had some of their smaller stoves, but no 3610.

Any pictures would help.

Mayhem, are you pushing the ash pans all the way back? They catch pretty much all of it but if they arent all the way back some will fall through.
I couldnt be happier with the stove and it even doubles as a pizza oven

Our installation will allow us to see the back when we walk from our bedroom.

They're going in all the way, the problem I run into is that thay are usually overfilled and the mounded up ash in them gets screed off by the stove body when i remove the pans...the excess then dumps into the pan area and I have to clean it out with a shovel and vacuum. My method to resolve this is to just clean out the firebox more frequently during hte seasona nd go to less frequent ash pan emptyings mid season. No matter what I do its going to make a big mess when i open the front doors, so I opt to just not open the front doors unless absolutely necessary.

Like I said though, a minor issue...not significant enough to keep anyone from buying this stove.

Pizza oven? Do elaborate.

Two fire bricks
One piece of Soapstone. A Co-worker tried to move his antique double bowl circa 1800 sink and it broke. He gave me a piece that I cut to 12 1/2" X 14".
Place soapstone on stove top to pre-heat
Get good coal bed.
Put firebricks in as pictured
Place soapstone on top
Let all pre-heat 30-45 minutes
Mmmmmmmmmmmmmm wood fired pizza.

After taking it out of the stove and putting it on the "regular" stovetop I noticed how HOT it was and the light went off in my head.
Cooked three eggs for breakfast sandwiches that I would put together in the AM.

I found that I have to cut some splits up with the chop saw so I can add wood as needed during cooking.

Here is a pot of venison stew simmering away on the top though.

If its any consolation we bought our stove sight unseen. Only place I ever saw the 3610 was online pictures, worked out great for us
The back of the stove is pretty unobtrusive IMNSHO

I like my Morso 3610 a lot. I like the ash removal system better than any of my previous stoves. But ash's dropping from the front door can happen. I normally remove the ash when the stove is cold, I can easily pull out the tray and walk outside with it.
