morso 6140 or similar?

anyone have any experience w/ the morso 6100 series, or any of the morso convection stoves?

I need a stove with close clearances, etc for a relatively small space-- 100 sq feet or so-- in a relatively warm climate (northern CA). the 6140 looks like it fits the bill pretty well. my concerns:

how long/ well does it burn?

fussy to start up?

can you fill the firebox without risk of the stack toppling over into the glass?

what size splits can you fit in there. they have to be short-- under 11 inches, but do they also have to be small? the firebox just seems like a kind of awkward shape to me.

anyone have any other suggestions for a nice, smallish, high quality stove with close clearances?

Well, its a 30k BTU wood stove. Splits will be small, 10-11" leaning up against the back refractory. You can expect a 2-4 hour burn time from the time the stove is lit until it dies out. IF a split does fall against the glass, it will leave a black mark where the log lays, and that black mark will burn off as soon as you get a hot fire in there. I dont know of any stove that is like the 6100 series, besides RAIS, and the Morso kills RAIS by a few thousand bucks.

thanks. how long will the other morso convection stoves burn, e.g. the 8140? I am worried something of that size is too big for my space, but 2-4 hours is kind of a quick burn.

8100 series gives you about 20% more burn time. They are a bit bigger, and you can fit larger splits.
