Help!
New to wood. Put in a jotul 3cb in back room which has cathedral ceiling and small loft. Naturally much of the heat is collecting up there. Have ceiling fan to push it down but have trouble pushing the heat out of that back room into the rest of the cabin. Stove had no blower option.
Have tried using a regular window box fan...with not to much success.
would the small fans installed in the top corner of doorways work and move more air better? Thanks for any advice

Most people find blowing the cold air into the stove room, at floor level works best.. We have a small fan on the floor in the dining room, blowing through the entry way into the living room, that keeps the air moving through the whole house.

Correct, use the box fan, on the floor, on low speed, to push cooler air from the main room into the back room. The displaced cool air will be replaced with the warm air from the back room.

In our living room with a cathedral ceiling we have a paddle fan located above the stove. All winter we keep it blowing in reverse, which forces the hot air trapped at the ridge to flow down the ceiling and then down the walls. This works pretty well and since the bedroom doorway is right in line with the fan a nice column of this warm air flows into the bedroom, as well. Any chance you could install a fan in a similar spot? You say this is a cabin, so if it's somewhat rustic you could even use a swag type setup to avoid having to hire an electrician to install a ceiling electrical connection.

I use a small fan on medium speed on the floor of my hallway to push cold air from the bedrooms to the heated area. Saw a 2 degree Celsius difference with that.

Cheers,
Jo
