Also, I know it sounds stupid and I didn't see it in this thread, is it dropping pellets into the pot? Are you getting power at the terminals where the igniter plugs in?

After reading a current owner's manual it would appear that it does go to auto clean. I'm not sure it really does either. I will break out the battery and see what happens.JoeS said:MY AE shuts down for auto clean when in battery back up mode.
