Hello

I have been looking for a very good deal on a Harman for a very long time. I like the Advanced but want a larger hopper than 60 lbs and more than the 48,000 BTUs.

It has been very difficult to find a good deal. The very few times I see one that is a good deal, it is sold before I can get a reply!

This time I got there 1st and if I did not take, a guy from Maine was going to drive the 2-3 hours to get it!

A P61a with a hopper extension would be nice. This is a P61 but not to hard to make it into a P61a!

I got it and maybe getting the 50lb extension too. 110lbs would be right!

It looks brown and I want to match the paint.

Does anyone know the Stove Bright color for it?
Looks like Sunset, see chart

Is there a way to tell the Manufacturer Date?
Serial # is WHI-004221

Good info on a Harman with a T-Stat

Doesn't look brown to me, Don, but back then Stove Bright Honey Glow Brown was really popular...The date should be noted at the bottom of the rating tag behind the hopper lid...

Paint it satin black:), the most popular and easy to do. What did you pay for it?

Oooo no, Now even don has drank the coolaide! ;sick jk

Nice looking stove. Keep us posted on how you like it don! Sorry no help on the color! ;em

No matter what color it is, I'm sure you'll have it looking like it came right out of a showroom. I must say, though, I'm not a big fan of the gold trim. (I have nickel on mine).

Nice find Don. Looks like a faded black. Not the Honey glow brown.

You gonna finally tear out that Astoria and put a real stove in that basement ;)

I got it for $1200 because it has no ignitor but an update Kit for $375 can fix that.

I like the Nickel also but cannot complain for the price.

Compared to a new one
$3589.00 P61a
+$352.00 Trim & Tile
+$219.00 50lb Hopper Extension
------------
$4160.00 Total

I paid
$1200.00 P61
+ 110.00 50lb Hopper extension $95.00 + $15.00 shipping
+$375.00 Harman Ignitor Upgrade kit. - Hope to get that in. I have done one to another stove and I know it works very well!
-----------
$1685.00 Total for P61a upgraded P61

$4160.00
-$1685.00
---------------
$2475.00

However I did see a used P61a on E-bay so I probably saved $300-$500 since it has more accessories.

Not yet, I have to finish working on a 25-PDVC before I can test out the Harman. So it maybe a few days. :-(
It is in super good shape! I may take the auger out, there is a little carbon on it.

It's taupe (that's what I call everything I can't really identify).

Thanks, I will check into the Honey Glow Brown, I bet this paint has faded some.

I vacuumed out the stove,Then I just ran the stove in test mode and everything works.
The auger is a little dirty, I may clean it up some.

You will have pellets in that thing by morning

Thanks Boo Boo

It's like bringing home a dog or cat, the other members of the family must accept it and it may take some time. Once they see it purr and keep them warm with not as much cleaning it may work out!
Plus I found a used 50lb hopper extension so it will be just as easy as the older stove was. to keep pellets in it.

Nothin' to do with Don. Just tryin' to gently bust ya on spelling...exited vs. excited. All in fun...nevermind. Rick
