Hello all-
I currently have a napoleon insert 1101 in my living room , I need more heat output. Do you think the 1401 insert will do it ? The rm size is 20x24 , and ceiling height us 18 ft tall... thanks !

Hard to know without more information. It could be you need a larger stove depending on the total sq ftg the heat is reaching. What rooms surround this area and how large are the openings to the next rooms? Is there a stairway close by? Is there a ceiling fan?

Also having the fireplace dimensions including depth will help determine what will fit in there.

Do you have a block off plate?

If your present insert is close but not quite enough the small size upgrade will probably work. If it is falling way short it is time to look for a stove instead of an insert.

Hey, I had the same insert and upgraded to 3.2 c insert. The difference in heat output was extraordinary. My initial intention was to get 1402 (2.25 cf) but was able to get the Osburn 2400 (3.2 cf) for just a couple hundred bucks more. Firebox size is generally the best predictor of heat output. Hope that's helpful.
