need opinion on boiler replacement please help

I live in all older house with an old oil boiler and I mean old. My oil company can no longer service it so I'm changing it to gas. I mainly what with a pellet stove . I have the old school cast radiators that I do not want to replace. And on top of it all my old boiler is covered with abspestos that needs to be removed . My house us 1200 sf. I got 2 different quotes and opinions. 1 it's going to cost 3k to remove old boiler and abspestos on both options .
Option 1 - this contractor feels going with a high efficiency 95%gas boiler is over kill for my needs and wants to install a 85% efficiency slant find model #VHS90XEP total price $5700.00

Option 2 this guy wants to install a high efficiency 95% Wal hung gas boiler brand is HTP 80 000 BTU'S total price is $8700.00

I only plan on staying here no more than another 10 years. Is the added efficiency boiler really worth an extra 3k????? + the extra interest I'm going to need to pay ? I'm thinking option 1 is best for me but this is a big investment for me and don't want to make a mistake here so need advise

Does your chimney have a ss liner in it already? If not it will need one soon after switching to a gas furnace they put allot of moisture into the chimney and that eats up the old clay. So you need to factor that into the price of the lower efficency one. I assume that the 95% one would be direct vented with pcv so no need for a liner in the chimney.

The price includes a liner but thought he said aluminum liner was all that was needed also I read that this boiler can also be direct vented

I would not let them put an aluminum liner in i would be surprised if it lasted the 10 years you are planning on staying pay the little extra and get ss. Especially if you are talking about for the 85% one aluminum is not acceptable at all for that one

Thank you i will contact him tomorow morning to find out for sure what type of venting he plans on using . This is in the venting description and my wife believes this is what he was planning on doing instead of using a liner

That is for the 95% one correct? The 85% one would most likely require a power venter to be direct vented. That or vent it into the chimney with a stainless liner

Ok looks like it has a built in assist blower so you can direct vent but no aluminum stainless steel only

Contacted him today and his quote dose include stainless direct venting without using the chimney
