New magnolia wood stove, looking for a bit of chimney info.

I just got a magnolia wood stove (broken link removed) .

I haven't really dealt with the epa stoves before and that's what I have a question on. Do the epa stoves need a damper?

I would think it wouldn't need one, since the stoves are controlled with the air inlet.

Also, I have been looking at some double wall pipe (from the stove to the chimney pipe) from here: (broken link removed) . Is the double wall worth the extra price? The double wall is stainless inside and has a lifetime warranty, so you aren't supposed to ever have to replace it (in a perfect world lol).

No dampner is needed with the Magnolia, for the very reason you listed. We installed our Magnolia last November and heated a 1600sq.ft. home without problem. Word of caution: the manual shows wall clearance from wall to stovepipe of 13.7" with a single wall pipe. This is not NFPA approved and should be 18". Should you go to double wall stovepipe, the manual lists 12.7" as minimum clearance. I believe DW is 9" per NFPA. Good luck with your new stove and welcome to the forum.

I was leaning to the double wall anyway. Thanks for the heads up on that, that could have been a mess! The double wall I am using says 6", but by following the other clearances listed, it will well above that.
