Hey guys completely a green horn here When it comes to wood stoves. I was wondering what is the best location for a condar stovetop thermometer on my Pacific Energy Summit wood stove. This is my first would so and I have very little to no experience. My biggest concern is over firing the stove however I'm looking for some guidance and some good information. Any information is greatly appreciated.

I just fired up my new summit this week. I put the stove top thermometer in the middle of the top of the stove. I also would suggest putting a thermometer on the stove pipe, about 18 inches up from the stove. I'm finding that the stove top temps cruise between 600 and 700 degrees.
Yes I have a fluegard thermometer in my summit classic as well. It really is a cool way to keep your fire at a safe level.
