Ok so I'm very new to pellet stoves but am kind of in a bind.
I am currently replacing my steam boiler and am using a 6039HF as my primary and only source of heat right now. Its working out good but I have a feeling it could burn much better if I understood it better.
The instructions say to have the damper fully open for any heat setting above #4. I ran it on HR5 all night with the damper fully open and found the glass became pretty dirty after 12 hours or so. Is this normal or can I get much better results by running manual settings?
I'm also not quite grasping the point in the manually controlled damper. Why is it necessary if there is a variable speed draft fan?
I have no problem tweaking things in fact I enjoy it, but the instructions that came with the stove are pretty much useless.
I am burning wood pellets from tractor supply co.
