Prince Edward Island
Hi Everyone,
Finally after years of wanting a stove my wife and I finally had one installed in our 1600 sq foot farmhouse here in Prince Edward Island. We wanted a good stove that would fit our small budget. We chose a Pacific Energy True North stove. We love this stove! We were also blessed to have a reputable installer who lives nearby. He rebuilt our chimney from the roof up (making it a bit taller) and installed a stainless liner. He did a great job. I also lucked out on 7 cord of mixed hardwood at a good price as my neighbor was selling his house and wanted the firewood removed before listing. The wood is at least 2 years old. We live on 8.5 acres with about half being woods. I've been harvesting quite a bit of downed birch and maple (as well as some softwood) to use in future years. I find the True North is a very forgiving stove that is easy to light and control. With the simplicity of this stove, my Fiskars splitting axe and the information gleaned from Hearth.com I almost look like I know what I am doing! :)

Our cat "Poncho" loves the stove too..

Congrats and Welcome, Keep us updated on how the new stove works for you.
Thats a nice stove.

Congrats! Are you heating entirely with the stove now? Is your place tight and well-insulated? Might be too early in the learning curve to say, but how long can you go before you need to re-load?

Good looking stove! I have visited your province. I went up there for 10 days at Christmas in 1990. What a beautiful piece of God's Green Earth.
Stayed at the Strathgartney Inn.

Good looking tuxedo cat too.

Its nice to start off with good dry wood, that eliminates a lot of newer burners problems, sounds like your all set for a long time on wood. Now if only winter would arrive.

Welcome to the forum Espirt!

And btw Mother winter will arrive, before you know it!
Look at few pics from last year if you miss it, or at your depleted wood stacks weatherguy.
